Activities

  •   Nursing Home Ministry & Service Learning:

Teaching how to minister to others and giving our students regular opportunities to share God’s love with our local elderly is very important to us.

Mrs. Dunning’s Kindergarten class along with Mrs. Gregoire’s First and Second grade class visit the student’s adopted “grandparents” at the Cedar Hill Nursing Home in Windsor, VT once a month. They bring a craft they have made in Art class and share a song or recitation they have recently learned.

Mrs. Haynes’ & Miss Nilsen’s 3-4th grade classes, Mrs. Peirce’s 5th grade class, and Mr. Bonesteel’s 6th grade class take a monthly visit to the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, NH sharing God’s love with their elderly friends there.

  • Physical Education & Sports:

All students have Physical Education class in school once a week.CCA6

We offer a Soccer and Basketball Program for those students who are in 6th grade and up. The CCA Cougars have a traveling boy’s team and girl’s team for basketball and a co-ed team for soccer.

CCA also offers a Ski Program for grades 3 and up at Mt. Sunapee Ski Area for 6 weeks in January and February.

Once per year, all students participate in our annual Jog-a-thon fundraiser. It’s a lot of fun and our biggest fundraiser of the year!

  • Music, Drama & Art:

Students of all ages participate in weekly Music and Art Classes.CCA Ensemble

The students put on a pair of wonderful Christmas programs each year; one for Elementary Students and one for Junior & Senior High students.

The Elementary and Junior High School students also showcase their musical, dramatic and educational skills at the Spring Showcase.

The Senior High students participate in a Drama & Music class in the late winter and spring semesters, and perform in a Drama & Music program near the end of the school year. This program usually consists of a comedy play, followed by a musical program that includes Broadway/Musical/Disney type of show-tunes.

Elementary and Junior High students take a weekly music class educating them in basic music theory. The students also get to participate in a praise band.

  • Field Trips:

CCA takes lots of field trips! Each year, field trips are scheduled for the fall and spring months. Field trips are always educational and give students the opportunity to learn through experience.

  • Fun Days & Special Activities:

We set aside some time in our schedule for fun activities that encourage teamwork, school spirit and learning while having fun!!

CCA has School Spirit DaysCCA10 which involve a lot of teamwork planning, activities and dress-up themes for each day. The schedule on School Spirit days are classes as usual but with a creative twist. Students are assigned to a team for Spirit days and work together to get creative on team projects, participate in a giving contest (last year we donated food items to Calvary Baptist Church’s food pantry) and dressing according to the daily themes. Last year’s theme days were:
Decades
School Colors: Blue & Gold
